The Center for Co-op and Career Development maintains a list of summer fellowship, scholarship, and summer associate positions offered to law students with diverse backgrounds from historically underrepresented populations in the legal community by law firms, bar associations, and other organizations. Each organization that offers an opportunity for law students defines its own criteria for eligible applicants differently.

Students are encouraged to review the available opportunities and carefully consult the websites and promotional materials for each opportunity to determine their eligibility to apply for a position. The majority of the positions listed are for 1Ls.

Application windows for many of these programs open in mid-November or on December 1 of each year. We have included the application windows and deadlines that we are aware of, but students are advised to confirm these deadlines by reviewing the organization’s website, searching for the posting on Symplicity, or reaching out to the employer directly. If applications are listed as being “reviewed on a rolling basis”, students should apply as soon as possible.

Please reach out to an advisor if you have questions about a particular program, or if you would like assistance in reviewing or preparing your application materials.

From October 1 – February 1, this list is updated weekly every Wednesday, so please check back frequently for the latest updates. From February 1 – April 30, this list is updated every other Wednesday
